Join me for a relaxed and creative morning needle felting your own fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) mushroom — those iconic red-and-white woodland beauties steeped in folklore and magic.
This workshop is about more than learning a craft. It’s a chance to slow down, rest your mind, work with your hands and enjoy being creative in good company.
I’ll guide you step-by-step through the basics of needle felting, sharing tips on wool, needles and techniques along the way. As we work, I’ll weave in a little folklore and woodland knowledge about the fly agaric and its place in our cultural imagination.
Your finished mushroom can be:
– Hung as a decoration
– Mounted on a wooden disc
– Woven into a wreath or seasonal display
– Or simply admired as awesome piece of handmade magic
As a forager at heart, I love bringing the wild into my indoor workshops. You’ll be invited to enjoy wild teas and foraged snacks — possibly even a taste of wild garlic pesto — alongside free tea and coffee if that’s more your thing.
We’ll be gathering in the gorgeous community space at Cohesion Salon in Retford, a warm, welcoming place that’s perfect for a cosy creative morning.
This workshop is ideal if you’re craving:
– Time just for you
– A gentle creative reset
– A friendly, relaxed atmosphere
– And the joy of making something with your hands
No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
